LG OLED C1 Smart TV Review – Quality High-End TV for the Price

lg oled c1 tv review

This LG OLED C1 Smart TV Review was written by TROYPOINT after using it for a few weeks.

This new smart television has received a lot of praise. It’s considered by many as the best high-end smart TV on the market today.

The LG OLED C1 Smart TV features a slim design, sharp 4K resolution, gorgeous contrast, HDR10, user-friendly remote, low input lag, and much more.

LG is known for producing some of the best-looking Smart TVs in today’s market, and their C1 Series is proof of this.

As of this writing, they are one of the only companies producing OLED (organic-light-emitting-diodes) displays at such large sizes.

In this instance, we are reviewing the 48 inch LG OLED 4K Smart TV. However, outside of the TV’s dimensions, most of the features are identical to other sizes.

TROYPONT TIP: It’s important to point out one of the best perks of ordering TVs and other tech devices like this is getting free delivery from Amazon. No more wasting your time going to the store, loading heavy TVs into your car, and other headaches.

LG OLED C1 TV Review – Who is This For?

This LG OLED C1 Smart TV is meant for those looking to upgrade their standard living room TV, home theaters, gaming experience, and more.

LG OLED C1 TV Review - Who is This For?

On LG’s official website, they claim the LG OLED C1 Smart TV is “unlike anything else.” They state the following:

“The answer is self-lit pixels. A self-luminous display technology that makes all the difference to your viewing experience. LG OLED TVs are capable of extreme realism and thin designs.’

Unlike traditional LED-backlit TVs, OLED produces infinite contrast because each self-lit pixel produces its own light instead of using a separate backlight.

Therefore, if you are someone who can’t go without the highest quality picture or contrast, the LG OLED C1 TV may be for you.

Its flawless 4K playback at 120 frames per second, low input response, and NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync make this Smart TV an absolute powerhouse for gaming.

Therefore, if you are someone who can't go without the highest quality picture or contrast, the LG OLED C1 TV may be for you.

Remote Control

When it comes to purchasing any Smart TV, it’s always important to evaluate the provided remote.

Some remotes can make or break the user experience of any Smart TV or streaming device.

Below is an image of the official remote for the LG OLED C1 Smart TV.

Similar to the new Firestick remote, you will notice there are dedicated buttons for certain streaming services including Netflix, Disney Plus, and Prime Video.

There are also three built-in voice assistant buttons for Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and LG’s own “Think” service.

This remote also has a unique motion control that enables a cursor when navigating on your TV.

LG OLED C1 Smart TV – Streaming Devices & Apps Compatibility

As with any Smart TV these days, it’s important to know what streaming devices and streaming apps are compatible with this television.

Since there are four available HDMI inputs, the LG OLED C1 TV can be paired with any popular streaming device that uses HDMI.

This includes the Amazon Firestick, Roku, Chromecast with Google TV, Android TV Boxes (NVIDIA Shield), Apple TV, and more.

When testing the LG OLED C1 Smart TV, we paired this TV with our favorite streaming device – the Amazon Firestick 4K.

The Firestick runs the Android operating system (OS) which allows for the installation of 3rd party apps through “jailbreaking” the device.

Since we are not a fan of the built-in WebOS operating system, we suggest using a streaming device for an improved user interface and overall experience.

Compatible Apps

There are thousands of compatible applications that can be used on the LG OLED C1 Smart TV for your enjoyment.

You will find several apps/services that are already built-in with the TV, which include the following:

  • Netflix
  • Disney+
  • Prime Video
  • Hulu
  • Sling
  • YouTube TV
  • HBO Max
  • Apple TV

However, if you are using an external streaming device like the Firestick or Android TV Box, you can install thousands of APKs instead.

Note: It’s also worth mentioning that you get 6 free months of HBO Max when purchasing a new LD OLED C1 Smart TV.

What We Dislike

  • Built-in speakers could be improved (typical with most TVs)
  • Problems with casting from other devices

Overall, TROYPOINT rates the LG OLED C1 Smart TV 4.1 stars out of 5. The TV itself is a 5/5 but we can’t justify a five-star rating with that high of a price point.
