ACE is back in the news again with another shutdown. Just a month ago we saw ACE shut down WatchSeries and WatchSoMuch.

In a recent report from TorrentFreak, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) has now seized the primary domains of Afdah.

Afdah is one of the most popular names when it comes to streaming sites as this website received millions of monthly visitors.

According to reports, this pirate streaming website attracted millions of visitors due to its packed content library of copyright-infringing movies, TV series, and more.

The exact domains seized by ACE include afdah.com and afdah.video.

According to the report, Afdah started to gain serious traction in 2015 when the Motion Pictures Association (MPA) obtained a High Court injunction which led to ISPs in the UK blocking this website.

In April 2021, ACE and the MPA had obtained a DMCA subpoena in the United States in which Cloudflare handed over the personal details of the operator behind an Afdah domain.

Then in October 2021, Afdah was listed by the MPA in the “notorious markets” report to the United States Trade Representative.

Fast forward to now, copyright authorities like ACE and the MPA have claimed that Afdah’s official domains will not be making a comeback.

If you visit the Afdah domains seized by ACE you will now be presented with the following screen.

However, it only seems this constant game of “whack a mole” with streaming website shutdowns will continue.

After doing some further research, we found several other “mirrors” of Afdah still widely available online.

Will Users of Afdah be Contacted?

It’s uncertain what’s happening behind the scenes with this latest targeting of the Afdah streaming site.

We’ve seen pirate website operators in the past hand over user data, streaming history, and identifying IP addresses when investigated by copyright authorities. They’re also known to sell this sought-after information to other third parties.

It’s extremely important to only stream content not protected by copyright and protect yourself with a VPN.
